Hey hey. I assume you're here because you're in the same boat that I am, which is that you're a millennial mom who has a son and have tried looking for cute clothes for him but they're nearly impossible to find. Welcome to the club (WAHHHHHH).
Here are some tips that I've learned when it comes to dressing your little man.
Don't be afraid to shop the "girls" section
When they're babies and toddlers, the shape of the clothing doesn't differ much. Once they hit the 5T size, they change cuts a lot (more ranting on that later), but for now, don't be afraid to buy something that is labeled "girl". There are SO many more neutral or even cutesy top and even bottoms options in the girl's department of any store. Do make sure to check that the cut won't be something you don't like (because why WOULDN'T an infant need a cropped shirt *eyerolllll*), but this has helped me to curate a lot of cute neutral clothing items for my son.
When shopping online, search or look for "gender neutral"
Many more online shops are starting to categorize a lot of their items as "gender neutral". This no longer means everything has to be yellow (because how did yellow get elected to be the "neutral" color for babies anyway!?) and often just means a more neutral clothing cut. Sometimes you'll find more muted colors (which is honestly my preference) and you can also search this category for cute matching items if you have multiple kids/are into that.
Ask other boy moms
There is a reason moms like to wear "boy mom"/"girl mom" tees. Being a boy mom has unique struggles, like I'm sure being a girl mom does, and moms are proud of their kiddos and their own parenting growth! One of the many boy mom struggles is finding cute clothing, so feel free to ask literally any mom you see that has a kiddo with clothes that fit you/your son's style. I promise they'll be excited to share!
Share your finds with other moms
If you find a brand, a piece, an anything that you like, tell your friends about it! It helps small businesses when you share finds that you purchase from them. Even if you found something cute from Target, it helps other moms when you share what you've found!
